Craft Beer Review: Commando Hoofing from Cotleigh Brewery

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's craft beer review is for Commando from Cotleigh Brewery.

The penultimate beer this week is the curiously named Commando Hoofing from longstanding Somerset brewer Cotleigh.

I'm not sure but I think my first pint of British real ale must have been a Cotleigh. I was 25, I was in a pub, I was thirsty, I saw a picture of a cute little owl at the bar. Gimme summa that guv'.

And a curious beer it is. By far the best draft beer this week. If I drank more beer there would be two BOTW: one for draft and one for bottle. But I don't drink at all during the week. I save my quota for the pub on weekends.

Anyways…

Some very interesting flavours for a light gold beer. Testament to the variety of hops crammed into the recipe I suppose. Bitter orange, peach, white chocolate, and, most curious of all for a light ale, COFFEE.

And who can resist a charity beer? 5p a pint goes to a charity supporting families of Royal Marines killed or injured in Afghanistan.

The Beer in Review is a blog about beer. Mostly British beer because that is where I live. I post a review every week day. Make sure you check in on Friday which is when I reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK! You can contact me with comments and questions on twitter or facebook.
