Craft Beer Review: Dark Horse from Maldon Brewing Company

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's craft beer review is for Dark Horse from Maldon Brewing Company.

You might know the Maldon Brewing Company by its other name: Farmer's Ales. Not to be confused with Mighty Oak who also hail from this Essex estuary town (Chelmer and Blackwater not the Thames).

Dark Horse is a dessert beer for sure. Dark red, malty, and rather flat, the predominant taste is that of a coffee liqueur. It is very sweet and very high alcohol at 6.6. So if you like that sort of thing go for it. Small doses for me. It was pleasant enough but not a quaffing beer. Save it for after dinner.

The Beer in Review is a blog about beer. Mostly British beer because that is where I live. I post a review every week day. Make sure you check in on Friday which is when I reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK! You can contact me with comments and questions on twitter or facebook.
