Hooray for FRIDAY! And it is time to reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK.

As I wrote yesterday it was a difficult choice and I have decided that this week the honour goes to Gold Rush from the Elephant School Brewing Company. Which, by the way, is a brand of the Brentwood Brewing Company.

The reason I chose this beer for BotW is because I have had several beers from ESBC and never liked any of them enough for a second pint. Or even a first pint in some cases. After being disappointed by two or three I simply expected a bland and depressingly unexceptional beer and wouldn't bother trying a new one if it was on. But I had to make my quota of five new beers this week!

Gold Rush is a LOVELY beer in contrast to the ESBC products I have had in the past. This beer was hoppy and citrus-y and fresh with bold flavours of bergamot, grapefruit, lemon, and thyme. I enjoyed it so much I had to have a pint two days in a row! Very unusual for me.

I can say the same for yesterday's Try Me but I decided to go with ESBC because they seem to have upped their game and improved. It was a pleasant surprise!

The Beer in Review is a blog about beer. Mostly British beer because that is where I live. I post a review every week day. Make sure you check in on Friday which is when I reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK! You can contact me with comments and questions on twitter or facebook.
