Beer Review: Magic Sponge from Thwaites

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is the Beer in Review. Today's review is for Magic Sponge from Thwaites.

This was a light brown buttery ale. Medium bitter with a butterscotch tone Magic Sponge was not an outrageously good pint but I enjoyed it much more than the last beer I had from Thwaites.

Thwaites is a big batch concern from the North of England. So not exactly craft but they do cask ales and Magic Sponge is an example of one.

There's not much more to say about the beer itself. It's this brand that is interesting. If you look at all of their other cask beer brands you will see that this one just sticks out. Not really sure why or where they were going with it.

Also it is a bit strange that the pump clip is a bit of laminated card and not the proper plastic kind. Again, this is pretty strange for a big brewery.

The Beer in Review is a blog about beer. Mostly British beer because that is where I live. I post a review every week day. Make sure you check in on Friday which is when I reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK!
