Mid-Week Special Beer Reivew Part II: Golden Champion from Badger

Happy Hump Day hop heads! Wednesday is Mid-Week Special Day!
The day I re-review a beer I've had before that was really good and get to try again or was BEER. OF THE. WEEK, or something a bit quirky or maybe I didn't like but is news worthy.
And it is even EXTRA special this week because we have THREE bottled beers worthy of notice.

Share It!

Up next is Golden Champion (like the Wonder Horse!) from Badger. Who are, rather bafflingly, brewed by a company called Hall & Woodhouse. The beer industry in the UK is so confusing.

I hardly ever see Badger beers on tap. In fact I don't know if I have EVER had a Badger beer on draft ever in my life. Which, considering how ubiquitous they are, is quite an achievement.

They are a bit like Marston's or Courage. I don't think I would opt for a Badger if there were other craft beers on draft available. Not that I am a beer snob (I am totally a beer snob).

Anyways, this one was new to me when I saw it in the store the other day and thought I would try it. And I was very pleasantly surprised. It was light and hoppy and soft fruity. But with a really nice bite to it. Definitely worth having in for those days when you need a few nice beers out in the back yard.
