Real Ale Beer Review: Broadside from Adnams

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's real ale beer review is for Broadside from Adnams.

Share It!

Broadside is dark amber bitter with caramel and toffee flavours. It was lightly carbonated and sweet and had a bit of an orange zest zing. Not amazingly complex but flavourful. One more suited to winter or to have with a meal rather than just to drink on it's own.

Interested in other Adnams beers? See my reviews for Gunhill and Ghost Ship

Remember last week? When I only had FOUR beers to share and was way under quota. Well I debated whether to include Broadside this week because it was one of EIGHT(!) beers I got to try over the weekend. Adnams not being 'craft' beer and all.

That felt unfair. This blog isn't necessarily all about 'craft' beer. Just beer. Mostly British beer. Adnams makes beer in Britain. Also Broadside was a tasty pint. I've had far worse 'craft' beers and reviewed those. Why leave out one that was GOOD?

So you are going to have a surfeit of beer reviews coming your way this week! As well as a little even-star Adventure Story on Wednesday for the Mid-Week Special.

The Beer in Review is a blog about beer. Mostly British beer because that is where I live. I post a review every week day. Make sure you check in on Friday which is when I reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK! You can contact me with comments and questions on twitter or facebook.
