Craft Beer Review: Stag from Exmoor

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's craft beer review is for Stag from Exmoor.

I had this beer on Sunday after all the possibilities at the mini beer fest had been exhausted. It was medium amber and malty. Fairly sweet with orange and soft fruit flavours.

Well, that was rather short wasn't it?

I try to always be objective when reviewing a beer. You can always describe something without giving an opinion. But I just realised today that when I am terse in a review it generally means that the beer didn't blow me away. One way or the other.

That is the case here. Stag is a good beer. Well balanced flavours. A pleasant profile. Probably a bit too sweet for me. And nothing particularly remarkable about it. And sometimes that is what you want in a beer. Some good unobtrusive flavour to sip while you are having a natter at the bar. Like background music for you mouth.

The Beer in Review is a blog about beer. Mostly British beer because that is where I live. I post a review every week day. Make sure you check in on Friday which is when I reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK! You can contact me with comments and questions on twitter or facebook.
