Happy Monday and Dominion Day (if you are in Canada). Time to kick off another week of beer reviews starting with Spitfire from Shepherd Neame.

I have never reviewed Spitfire here before even though I drink it quite often in bottled form. Never had it on draft before and when our Friday night pub happened to have it on I thought I might as well give it a try like I did for Ghost Ship and Tribute.

Spitfire is an amber nutty bitter. It has a bit of toasty coffee/toffee flavours and has a fairly sweet finish. The draft version turned out to be slightly floral on the back palate. A fresh, mellow, smooth beer all round.

It's never been a blow-me-away kind of ale. It's good to have a few bottles in stock for the odd time we don't go out for a weekend evening or for when we go out on the boat.

The Beer in Review is a blog about beer. Mostly British beer because that is where I live. I post a review every week day. Make sure you check in on Friday which is when I reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK! You can contact me with comments and questions on twitter or facebook.
