Yorkshire Craft Beer Review: White Hart from Elland

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Yorkshire craft beer review is for White Hart Ale from Elland.

So here is a weird one. I had this beer at the White Hart in Grassmarket in Edinburgh. Apparently the city's oldest pub, it is now owned by Belhaven pubs and was a lovely old place. The weird thing is that White Hart is a beer brewed for the pub by Elland, a Yorkshire brewery. What gives? There are so many amazing Scottish breweries!

White Hart Ale itself was an amber bitter. Nothing notable about it. Rather bland and astringent but smooth and lightly biscuity. Some nice freshness in there. Watermelonish, pear, and apple.

This concludes our Edinburgh beer odyssey. I will follow up shortly with a Drink, Eat, Do for Edinburgh so stay tuned hop heads.

The Beer in Review is a blog about beer. Mostly British beer because that is where I live. I post a review every week day. Make sure you check in on Friday which is when I reveal BEER. OF THE. WEEK! You can contact me with comments and questions on twitter or facebook.
