Derbyshire Craft Beer Review: West of the Sun from Torrside Brewing

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Derbyshire craft beer review is for West of the Sun from Torrside Brewing.

Today's beer is made by a new brewery located in a place that is quite special to me: Torrside Brewing from New Mills, Derbyshire.

I love getting to try small new breweries and like to support them but a brewery in New Mills is very exciting for me. It is one of my favourite places but has sadly been lacking in craft beer production. Until now!

West of the Sun was a cloudy gold bitter. Very tropical hops with papaya, mango. coconut, and pomelo. A bit of juicy plum sweetness and a lovely bitter edge of pink grapefruit.

West of the Sun get the official Snail of Approval!

And if you get a chance to visit New Mills in Derbyshire it is a cracking little town with a couple of cracking little pubs. Also the Swizzles Matlow candy factory lives there. It is a big old Victorian brick factory where they make Love Hearts and Parma Violets. Sadly there are no tours or oompa loompas.

Also I love their branding. It is so New Mills! My head basically asploded when I saw this beer and it was such a good beer as well!

The Beer in Review is a blog about British craft beer and real ale. Keep up with new posts and contact me comments and questions on twitter or facebook. I'd love to hear about your craft beer adventures and recommendations from your home town.
