Yorkshire Craft Beer Review: Crystal Gold from Merrie City Craft Beers

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Yorkshire craft beer review is for Crystal Gold from Merrie City Craft Beers.

Crystal Gold was a clear gold bitter. A a bit malty with vanilla and fennel, apples, aromatic sweetness.

So this is the most confusing pump clip ever. Merrie City Craft Beers is a brand of something called the H.B. Clark Group of Companies. One of which is some sort of brewery. H.B. Clark is indeed a brewer and wholesaler of beer but it seems more like they brew for other brands/organisations who would like to add craft beer to their wheelhouse but don't want to do the brewing.

It is more interesting than the beer was itself! Fun fact: The city of Wakefield in Yorkshire has historically enjoyed the moniker of being the Merrie City. Sounds like a place I need to visit!

The Beer in Review is a blog about British craft beer and real ale. Keep up with new posts and contact me comments and questions on twitter or facebook. I'd love to hear about your craft beer adventures and recommendations from your home town.
