Liverpool Craft Beer Review: Treacle Tart from Mad Hatter Brewing Company

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Liverpool craft beer review is for Treacle Tart from Mad Hatter Brewing Company.

Treacle Tart was dark dark red, nearly opaque black. Liquorice allsort and molasses. Went well with jalapeƱo pork scratchings because they mostly cancelled out the strong aniseed flavour.

And so we continue with the Manchester beer odyssey. I made myself a promise, since there was so much to choose from, that I would try to branch out and try some kinds of beers that I normally wouldn't go for. Like this kind of stout/porter/dark beer.

And I am glad I did but this kind of thing really isn't me. I really do not like liquorice for one thing. And I am not crazy about a sweet beer either. But if you are into either of these things then this is the beer for you!
