Dorset Craft Beer Review: Spring Equinox from Dorset Brewing Company

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Dorset craft beer review is for Spring Equinox from Dorset Brewing Company.

Equinox was a cloudy dark amber. Bitter-sweet and fruity with cherry, plum, blueberry, and peach. Grassy Rye bitterness. Very tasty and rich.

I would have said it was more of a Summer beer, being so fruity and rich, rather than a Spring one. Which is an interesting point. This was DBC's March limited edition but I only had this last weekend. On the first of May in fact.

This is something I have always found a bit funny. I have probably NEVER had a monthly special from any brewery in the same month it was brewed for. It is usually a month or even two after! Real ale, which is cask finished, is an organic product that can go off. Especially if it gets air in it. But I guess a month or two in the bottle doesn't hurt bottled beer so maybe this isn't unusual.

It does kind of take the fun out of it though. We tend to be working our way through Christmas beers at the end of January. Not very festive!
