Ontario Craft Beer Review: Club House Red from Great Lakes Brewery

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Ontario craft beer review is for Club House Red from Great Lakes Brewery.

Share It!

Club House Red was more of a dark brown. Malty but not particularly sweet, kinda rye flavoured. It was served to cold from the tap, no fizz at all though. After it warmed up a bit it was a bit chocolatey.

The Club House in question was the Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club. The oldest golf course in North America! Which sounds posh but non-members are welcome at the restaurant and it was one of the most reasonably priced meals we had while we were in Canada. Good food, decent beer, and great service! The Great Lakes Brewery make this beer especially for them.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a beautiful historical town near Niagara Falls (Canadian Side). Well worth a visit any time of year.

And you might remember Great Lakes from a Post in May for Octopus Wants to Fight. Which was a very yummy beer indeed.

The Beer in Review is a blog about British craft beer and real ale. Keep up with new posts and contact me comments and questions on twitter or facebook. I'd love to hear about your craft beer adventures and recommendations from your home town.
