Stockport Craft Beer Review: Hop Gun from Robinson's

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Stockport craft beer review is for Hop Gun from Robinson's.

Share It!

Hop Gun gold bitter. Malty, astringent, and apple. Sharp with some parsnip and parsley.

The Bear used to live up near Stockport and there were a number of Robinson's pubs in the area (they are one of these large real estate owning breweries). In fact it was hard to get a beer other than a Robbies when I was up there visiting! And I will be honest and say that I have never been a big fan of Robbies beers. They all tasted rather same-y and bland to me. Along with a number of other breweries in the North West.

I often wondered if it is the water up there, which is so wonderful to drink compared to the water we have in the South East, but maybe doesn't make very good beer. I know now this can't be the case after having some very tasty beers from other breweries in the same area. I guess it is just their market.

But this was a really tasty beer. Finally a Robbies I like!
