Sussex Craft Beer Review: Hophead from Dark Star Brewing Co.

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Sussex craft beer review is for Hophead from Dark Star Brewing Co.

Hophead was a gold bitter. Light, fruity, and hoppy with clean bitter edge of lemon peel. Fragrant and aromatic, floral with orange flowers and elderflower. Juicy lychees.

I had this beer in the North terminal of Gatwick airport while waiting for a plane to take me away to Lanzarote! Which is an island off the North coast of Africa which belongs to Spain. It won't be quite the beer odyssey I had in Canada but I was certainly surprised by the number of craft breweries lurking in the volcanic Canary Islands. I even got to visit one!

I got to try two beers from two of them as general distribution seems to be an issue. And I brought home a couple more to try so I can do a video for you and share some of the sights of Lanzarote. A very interesting place indeed!

If you follow me on Twitter you will have seen some of the fun. Stay tuned.
