Do you ever have one of THOSE days? I hardly ever drink on a school night but this one day I came home and just needed to unwind with a beer. But because I hardly ever drink at home I hardly ever have beer in the house. Luckily I remembered my little trip to the medieval festival a couple of months ago and the French craft beers I took home from there. And even more luckily one of them was this 11Siecles de Normamdie which was a whopping 11%.

It was a dark amber/light brown. Strong metallic taste like copper or even blood! You know that really metallic iron tangyness. Strong bitter and aromatic with some like olive! So interesting. Something a bit floral like roses, malty but… not.

A very interesting beer and not at all what I have come to expect from typical French beers. Well done again Northmaen!
