Belgian Craft Beer Review: Delirium Tremens from Huyghe Brewery

Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Belgian craft beer review is for Delirium Tremens from Huyghe Brewery.

Delirium Tremens was a cloud-ish gold, almost champagne colour. Sooo interesting. You think it's sweet but then almost immediately dissipates into a resinous lime. Definitely some of that Northern European cloveyness. Something a bit floral and dark in there like how rotting leaves smell in the autumn.

Yes indeed the world famous Delirium Tremens. It was good. I am not sure if it is the best beer in the world though. Delirium (AKA the Huyghe Brewery) had a bar in the north east quarter of Amsterdam next to the Movenpick where we were staying.

Cute little place with a soothing view of the Ij. 720 motherfucking different beers! Decent bar type food. I recommend the goats cheese croquettes. I also recommend not turning up there at 7pm on a Friday night. The place is heaving. Try at about 4pm on Saturday or Sunday. Nice and quiet and cosy.
