Midlothian Craft Beer Review: Deuchars IPA from Caledonian

Midlothian Craft Beer Review: Deuchars IPA from Caledonian real ale pump clip
Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Midlothian craft beer review is for Deuchars IPA from Caledonian.

Deuchars is a dark gold ale. Quite bitter up front but mellowing out to soft fruitiness with some lighter juicy citrus. Quite a green tasting beer with flavours of celery and parsnip. A malty mustiness comes through at the end.

Robust and not too complex but there is an edge of something, maybe cloves or fennel, that kind of tires me out by the time I get to the half pint mark. I remember the first time I tried Deuchars I really liked it. Guess my pallet has changed.

If you look at my reviews for other Calendonian beers I've had recently (see the 2016 reviews link on the menu bar above) then it might understandable that I have gone off them a bit.
