Somerset Craft Beer Review: Chris Moose from Butcombe

Somerset Craft Beer Review: Chris Moose real ale pump clip from Butcombe
Welcome to the Shed. I am even-star and this is The Beer in Review. Today's Somerset craft beer review is for Chris Moose from Butcombe.

Chris Moose is a brown or almost red ale. Fruity and fresh and rather sweet. Strawberry and raspberry dominate with a little bit of almond and mint. Gets a bit more bitter as the pint goes on and takes on more of a mulled wine profile with some pleasing spiciness of cinnamon and cloves. Appropriate for wassailing.

Still working our way through the left over Christmas beers apparently. Surprisingly this one was had at a London pub which I would have expected to have turned over their seasonal beers by now.

Also surprising is that I apparently didn't have a Butcombe beer last year that I have a record of. I had quite a few in 2015. But I seem to be plagued by Somerset beers. Not that Somerset beers are bad. A lot of them are amazing. However, this does not aid me in my quest to represent all of the UK counties in the review this year!
